WHO warns of “potential global epidemic” as Covid-19 expands

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday of a “potential global epidemic” after the spread of the Coronavirus outside China with new infections and deaths recorded in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. “The sudden increase in the number of infections in Italy, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Korea (South) is very precarious,” he said, stressing that world health does not consider the situation to have reached this stage yet.
