What does self-confidence mean?

Self-confidence can be defined as the extent of a person’s certainty of his personality and abilities as a reflection of what is going on in his inner feelings, knowing that this state is not fixed and that it is subject to change and change depending on what is going on around the person from the events and the corresponding reactions issued by him, in addition to that the events of the past also play It plays an important role in estimating a person’s self-confidence level, especially if memories are linked to success stories, as they will raise the level of self-confidence when experiencing setbacks and help the person to rise again.[1]

In the same context, one of the synonyms of self-confidence is the so-called self-respect, with a simple difference between them in terms of the exact meaning, where the concept of self-confidence refers to what we feel about our personal abilities directly, while the concept of self-respect refers to whether we value and value ourselves or not. Thus, we can say that self-esteem is essential because in the end it will lead to enhancing the amount of self-confidence.[1]
