Failaka Island

Failaka Island is the most beautiful and most famous island in Kuwait. The island is located 20 km from the northeastern side of Kuwait City. It is 12 km long and 6 km wide. Failaka enjoys historical importance due to the archaeological artifacts in it.[1]

Bubiyan Island

Bubiyan Island is the largest island in Kuwait, located in the northeast of the Arabian Gulf, with an area of ​​863 square meters, and it is linked to the land by a metal bridge.[1]

Big Island

Kubbar Island is a low, uninhabited sandy island, located 29 km south of Failaka Island, about 30 km off the coast of Al-Zour, and has an area of ​​three quarters of a kilometer.[2]

Qaruh Island

Qaruh Island is the smallest of the southern Kuwaiti islands, and farthest from the Kuwaiti mainland. Qaruh was named by this name because it contains large amounts of oil deposits known in Arabic as tar.[2]

Umm Al-Maradim Island

Umm Al-Maradim Island is located in the southern part of the coast of Kuwait. Its length is 1.5 km and its width is 540 m. It is characterized by its deep beaches that allow ships to anchor safely. The reason for calling the island Umm Al-Maradim is the presence of many Maradam birds there.[2]

Umm al-Naml Island

Umm al-Naml Island is located on the northern side, near Kuwait, inside the Joun. It contains many archaeological sites, and it also contains artifacts from the Dilmun, Islamic and Bronze Age eras.[3]

Shuwaikh Island

Shuwaikh Island was located northwest of Shuwaikh port, adjacent to the southern coast of Al-Joun, about one kilometer from the coast.[3]

Ohah Island

Awah Island is located 4 km southeast of Failaka Island. It is a small uninhabited island, 800 m long and 540 m wide.[3]

Maskan Island

Miskan Island is located northwest of Failaka Island. It is a low, uninhabited sandy island, 1,206 km in length and 800 m in width.[3]
