  • Eating large amounts of food: Despite the ability of the stomach to expand, its true size is equivalent to a fist, and therefore eating a lot of food causes flatulence, and therefore it is recommended to stop eating before feeling full or full.
  • Drinking soda: Eating soda and other gas-containing beverages such as wine and carbonated water causes the digestive system to be filled with gases, and a person may get rid of some of these gases by belching, but there is a part of these gases that move from the stomach to the small intestine, causing them to be trapped there, and this is what It causes flatulence.   • Eating dairy products: There is a group of people who suffer from the inability of their bodies to digest the sugar found in milk and its derivatives, known as lactose sugar, and then suffer from flatulence and pain in it, and this group is advised to avoid eating dairy products.
  • Eating certain types of foods: such as foods high in fat and foods containing artificial sweeteners.

  • Pregnancy: Pregnancy or its complications may cause flatulence. Examples of these complications are: ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage.
  • Other causes: such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease that causes ascites or an enlarged liver, and infection of the small intestine, as is the case with appendicitis and diverticulitis. Other causes of flatulence include gastrointestinal cancer, urinary tract cancer, or reproductive system cancer, as well as cases of food allergy or gluten intolerance.
