Edam

Edam is one of the traditional dishes well-known in India, from which it spread to neighboring countries. It is also considered a secondary food that is served alongside a plate of rice or with bread and various appetizers. Edam can be prepared with mixed vegetables such as zucchini and potatoes, or with meat pieces. In this article, we will mention two ways to make Edam meat.

Meat Edam work

  • Half a kilogram of meat cut into small pieces.
  • Juice of two tomatoes.
  • Four tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • Two tablespoons of crushed garlic.
  • Two tablespoons of mashed ginger.

  • A tablespoon of: mixed spices, paprika, turmeric, curry.
  • A tablespoon of yogurt, and tomato sauce.
  • A small pinch of ground cinnamon.
  • A pinch of dried coriander.
  • table salt.
  • Several cloves, cardamom and cinnamon sticks for boiling the meat.

How to prepare

  • Boil the meat in a wide saucepan with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves for about half an hour.
  • Remove the meat and half the broth and set it aside.
  • In a deep saucepan, saute the onions for a few minutes, add the meat, season with spices, and stir for several minutes.
  • Add the yogurt, garlic, and ginger, stir for five minutes, then add the broth and tomato juice.
  • Cover the pot until the ingredients boil for ten minutes, then reduce the heat and leave the ingredients until they are completely cooked.
  • Add coriander, stir a little, then serve edam with rice.

Edam meat with okra

  • Half a kilogram of meat.
  • Half a kilogram of okra.

  • Three pieces of chopped tomatoes.
  • A tablespoon of tomato sauce.
  • A medium onion, finely chopped.
  • Minced clove of garlic.
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil.
  • table salt.
  • A spoonful of mixed spice.
  • Three grains of cardamom right.
  • Cinnamon sticks.
  • Dried black lemon.
  • Two bay leaves.
  • Galangal pill.
  • A teaspoon of: curry, turmeric, cumin, ground hot pepper, and meat spices.
  • Pinch of dried mint.
  • A small piece of fresh ginger.

How to prepare

  • Fry the onions in a wide pan with a little vegetable oil, add the pieces of meat, and all kinds of ground and right spices, and stir the ingredients until the aroma of the spices rises.
  • Add mint, ginger, and enough water, and let the ingredients boil for forty-five minutes.
  • Cut the okra into fingers, and cut the purslane into three pieces, and mix it in a dish with chopped tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, and salt, then add it to the pot and let it boil for a third of an hour.
  • Pour the edam into a serving dish, along with the bread and pickles.
