Yesterday, Monday, the Oman News Agency stated on its official account on the “Twitter” website that the Supreme Committee decided to suspend entry to the Sultanate for those coming from 10 countries: “Sudan, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, the Republic of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.”
The committee also decided to “suspend entry of those coming from any other countries if they had passed through any of the ten aforementioned countries, during the 14 days preceding the application to enter the Sultanate,” according to the agency.
She explained that this will start at twelve o’clock in the morning on Thursday 25 February 2021, for a period of fifteen days.
She pointed out that an exception is made for “Omani citizens, diplomats, health workers and their families, who will be subject to the procedures approved upon entering the Sultanate.”
Last Sunday, the Omani Ministry of Health called on all residents not to travel outside the country except for the most urgent need, coinciding with the emergence of many new strains of the Corona virus.
The Sultanate continues to tighten procedures for entry and exit, and has closed its land borders for a month and for an indefinite period. In an effort to curb the outbreak.
