Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation soldiers arrested the photojournalist Ahmed Jalajil, a resident of Al-Thawri neighborhood, south of occupied Jerusalem, before he was taken to an interrogation center in the Old City.
The occupation targets Jerusalemites through arrests, deportations and fines, with the aim of removing them from Al-Aqsa Mosque, and leaving it as an easy spot for settlement ambitions.
The occupation also targets the employees and guards of Al-Aqsa to arrest, deportation and harassment in order to dissuade them from their role in protecting and securing the mosque.
According to the statistics of the Committee to Support Journalists, the occupation has arrested 8 detained journalists in its prisons, and actual sentences have been passed against them. They are: the writer Walid Daqqa Moabd, Mahmoud Issa, Ahmed Al Saifi, Munther Khalaf Mufleh, Basem Al-Khandaqji, Ahmed Al-Arbeed 4 years, Yasser Mannaa 2 years, Mujahid Mardawi 10 months .
