The foreign ministers of Russia and Armenia discuss the armistice agreement in Karabakh

The two ministers discussed, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, a number of pressing issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

The two sides discussed steps to implement the statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the agreements reached at the Moscow summit on January 11, 2021, including in the context of resolving humanitarian issues and establishing multilateral cooperation in the region.

On November 9, and after 44 days of fighting in Karabakh, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement that stipulated a ceasefire, an exchange of prisoners and dead bodies, the handover of Armenia to Azerbaijan, a number of regions, and the deployment of Russian peace-keeping forces on the line of contact between the two parties to the conflict, as well as Along the Lachin Corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.
