The Egyptian President’s decision, which was published in the country’s official gazette, stipulated the declaration of a state of emergency throughout the country for a period of 3 months, according to the website of the “Al-Gomhoria” newspaper.
The implementation of the decree bearing No. 596 of 2020 will start from 1 am today, Monday, October 26, 2020.
Yesterday, Sunday, the three-month period that the Egyptian Parliament approved on Monday, 20 July, to extend it in the country, as it began on 27 July.
And the imposition of a state of emergency was declared for the first time on October 25, 2014, in certain areas in North Sinai, by a decision of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and it has been renewed in these areas until now.
It was imposed on all parts of the country for the first time on April 9, 2017, following the simultaneous bombing of the Churches of St. George in Tanta and Marquia in Alexandria, for a period of three months.
