The concept of education and its characteristics

Education is directed to the psychological aspect, and the mental aspect of the human being is more than the physical aspect, because the body grows and matures according to a natural law of its own. As for the psychological and mental aspect, it does not grow, and does not develop except in an educational aspect, which includes education, politeness, and care.[1]

definition of education

The term “education” in the language is derived from the verb usury, and it means to nurture, create, polite, or reform, and the term “education” is used in general on living organisms that grow, and possess a soul, and a soul, and this term was called the act of politeness, and care for animals as well. The term raising of domestic animals, which grows and lives under human control, as if we say: raising poultry, birds, or livestock, and so on.[2]Idiomatically, Education: It is a set of actions or efforts that seek to change, refine, and develop human nature, within a behavioral and developmental methodology based on sound principles that make individuals more positive and integrated into the society in which they live. [3] In general, we can say that education is a group of actions that fall under the door of care, care, and discipline, and its goal is to complete the deficiency of a living being, in order to grow and develop in his body and soul. Education is defined from a social point of view as: passing on a set of cultural data, whether they are ideas, perceptions, information, knowledge, values, customs, traditions, symbols, behaviors, reference actions and other data created by society, or a group Certain in their life path through generations, and then turned into ideal reference values, which are supposed to be passed on to future generations to ensure social, cultural and spiritual cohesion that is transmitted through education. Education is a transfer of the societal culture pattern to the subconscious structure of the individual, so that it becomes frames of reference rooted in the hearts of individuals; So that individuals act according to it in an intuitive and natural way without any arrangement.[4]

breeding characteristics

Education has many characteristics, the most important of which are:[5]

  • Education and its relationship to the essence of man: that is, his essence that distinguishes him from the rest of the creatures, and in which the truth of man is established as a sane and distinguished being. We find that education is a distinctive feature of man from the rest of the creatures; Where he is the one who does the education of the rest of the creatures, and the one who does the act of education is also done on him.
  • Education in the extent of its impact on the human being, and its purpose: where the act of education is known as an intentional act, or a directed movement whose purpose is to bring about a positive transformation, and Mahmoud is in the same educator, and he is the core of its goal, and its quest, so we find Aristotle has explained education in a somewhat strange concept when he defined it on It is a qualitative leap that seeks to transfer the learner from a state of deficiency, to a state of ability, or relative perfection, or to transfer him from a state of ignorance to a state of knowledge and knowledge. Therefore, the goal of education is to educate the human side in man, meaning that without education animality will triumph over the human side in man, and it will be unleashed on corruption, rebellion, and doing everything that is contrary to human nature.
  • Education in its relation to the social context in general: It is intended in this item that the social nature of man is what prompts him to be educated, and brought up, meaning that education in its purpose carries a clear social dimension, educating new individuals to become social beings, capable of renewal, mental and cognitive development behavior in society. Education seeks to remove individuals from the circle of animal nature, to the circle of culture, and behavioral and societal development, through saturation with social culture. Therefore, education is a social act that seeks to make man an effective social being, integrated into the environment in which he lives.
