The merit of Friday

Friday is the best of days, as evidenced by his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “The best day on which the sun rises is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was entered into Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it, and the Hour does not begin except on Friday.” Narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.

As he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Indeed, one of your best days is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the thunderbolt. Have you been fired? They say: Yes, he said: God Almighty has forbidden the bodies of the prophets on earth.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, An-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and others, and authenticated by Sheikh Al-Albani.

And this constant virtue of Friday includes the whole day, i.e. before and after the prayer, and therefore there is no evidence for allocating a time of it with virtue, except for the hour in which the supplication is answered, and it is most likely that it is the last hour of Friday before sunset. I like business on Friday

The night of Friday is the night that precedes the morning of Friday, and it begins when the sun sets on Thursday. Friday… So increase the number of prayers for me on it.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, Al-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah.

And because he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Increase your prayers for me on Friday and Friday night, for whoever sends blessings upon me, God blesses him ten times.” Narrated by al-Bayhaqi and classed as hasan by al-Albani.

Likewise, it is desirable to supplicate on Friday, because there is an hour of the answer, and as for prayer, the Muslim does not single out Friday or its night with prayer or fasting, to the exclusion of all other days. (2)
