Most of the flagship phones that will be launched by companies next year will carry the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which supports fifth generation communications. It was announced yesterday and today the company reveals more details.
What distinguishes this chip is that the fifth generation technology has been integrated directly into it instead of using a separate chip for communications over these networks, and this will allow to reduce battery consumption while using the fifth generation data.
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor provides powerful imaging capabilities, as it is 35% faster than the last generation and can capture about 120 12-megapixel photos in just one second.
And the processor now supports the sixth generation of the artificial intelligence engine that can handle 26 terra-per-second operations, with game-specific improvements, as the number of frames has reached 144 frames per second.
One of the first phones that will carry this processor is Xiaomi’s Mi11, and several other companies have confirmed that they will launch phones that work with its power in addition to Xiaomi, such as Asus, Lenovo, Motorola, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo and others.
