“Today, the House of Representatives showed that no one is above the law, not even the President of the United States. Donald Trump poses a clear and present danger to our country and we once again respect our oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution,” she said while signing the bill.
She added, “Now, with all the sadness and my broken heart for what this means for our country, I will sign an accountability list for a president who incited rebellion.”
And the US House of Representatives voted, on Wednesday evening, in favor of passing legislation providing for the accountability of the current US President, Donald Trump, for inciting revolt in congressional events.
232 lawmakers in the House of Representatives, including 10 Republicans and 222 Democrats, supported Trump’s impeachment legislation, compared to 197 lawmakers who rejected it.
Trump thus became the first president in US history to face impeachment twice.
