Leg and thigh pain

Leg pain may appear in the thigh, ankle, knee, behind the knee, or any other part of the leg. Leg pain is often caused by a problem that affects the muscles, ligaments, nerves, skin, or Joints, or bones, and depending on the cause of the pain, there are some other symptoms that may appear on the injured, including the following:[1]

  • Tingling feeling that may be associated with leg pain.
  • Suffering from numbness.

  • Suffering from throbbing pain in the legs.

Causes of leg and thigh pain

Reducing leg and thigh pain

The pain in the legs and thighs can be relieved by following some different tips, some of which can be mentioned as follows:[3]

  • Reducing pain from sports injuries:
  • Reducing muscle tension:
  • Apply ice to the affected area.
  • Use an elastic bandage to tighten the affected area.
  • Get enough rest.
  • Take some pain relievers, such as: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or acetaminophen.
  • Walking on heels until the muscle tension is gone.
  • Grasp the toe and pull it toward the body, keeping the leg straight.
