Lebanese rice with nuts

Rice with nuts is prepared in very many ways. Each group prepares it according to what it is accustomed to. Lebanese rice with nuts

the components

  • 125 g of minced veal.
  • 50 g of halved almonds.
  • 25 g of raisins.
  • A medium head of onion (120 g each).
  • A quarter cup of corn oil.
  • 500 g of Egyptian rice.
  • Half a tablespoon of spices.
  • Half a teaspoon of salt.
  • Half a teaspoon of fine cinnamon.
  • liters of water.
  • Two cubes of chicken broth.

How to prepare

  • Wash the rice well and soak it in water for half an hour.
  • Peel the onion and chop it finely.
  • We put the oil in a saucepan on the fire, leave a tablespoon of it in the cup, then add the chopped onions and stir until softened, then add the minced meat and stir until red.
  • Put the water in another saucepan on the fire, add the broth cubes and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the cinnamon, spices and salt to the meat and stir, then drain the rice from the water and add it to the meat and stir.
  • Add the broth after it boils to the rice and minced meat, cover the pot and leave it on a low heat for 25 minutes.
  • Then we remove the rice from the heat and put it on a serving plate.
  • Put the remaining oil in a small frying pan and put it on the fire, then add the almonds and raisins, fry and decorate the rice dish.

Tips

  • To speed up the cooking of rice, soak it in lukewarm water for half an hour.
  • Rice can be used short or long grain.
  • Store the spices in a cool, dark place away from the oven, because heat, light, and moisture lose their flavor.
  • In the case of using basmati rice or American (long-grain) rice, it is advised not to soak it for more than 10 minutes in lukewarm water, and it is preferable not to soak it and only wash it 4-5 times with warm water before cooking it.
  • To reheat the rice in the fridge, sprinkle a little water on it, cover it and put it on a low heat.
