facial pigmentation

Facial pigmentation or lack of uniform skin color is a very common problem among people, especially in females, and it results from two main reasons, either hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, as hyperpigmentation results from increased secretion of melanin, which leads to the presence of some dark places that differ from the rest. All parts of the skin are light, while hypopigmentation causes areas to appear lighter than the rest of the body. Age and genetic factors play a major role in the extent to which these pigmentations appear on the surface of the skin.

Causes of skin pigmentation

  • Genetic factor: If one of the parents suffers from the appearance of pigmentation, this increases the probability of the appearance of pigmentation in the children by a large percentage.
  • Excessive exposure to the sun’s rays without the use of protective creams.
  • Use of birth control pills to regulate your period or to delay pregnancy.
  • Menopause is the age of menopause in older women.
  • Hormonal disturbances or changes during pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Skin damage as a result of surgery or sagging due to a weight disorder between obesity and thinness.
  • Excessive use of hair dyes.

Methods for treating facial pigmentation

  • Use of vegetable juice: Various vegetable juices such as cucumbers, potatoes and tomatoes can be used to lighten dark places in the skin of the face and body, due to the fact that they contain natural acids capable of changing the color of dark skin and have an effect in calming irritated skin and restoring freshness, vitality and youth to it.
  • Continuously take vitamin E through the diet or through ready-made nutritional supplements, due to its effectiveness in lightening dark areas of the skin.
  • Orange peel mask: Use dried orange peel powder mixed with cold milk and a spoon of natural honey, then put it on the dark areas of the face for no more than thirty minutes, then rinse the face with lukewarm water.
  • Mint and milk: By chopping a few mint leaves and mixing them with a cup of fresh milk, then placing them on dark places for a quarter of an hour, they remove dark spots and improve the appearance of the skin.
  • Lemon and honey mask: This is done by mixing a spoon of honey and another spoon of fresh lemon juice and then placed on the skin for half an hour. It contains vitamin C, which is highly effective in lightening dark skin.
  • Oats with milk: Mix a little oatmeal with an appropriate amount of cold fresh milk and a teaspoon of honey, then put it on the pigmented skin for a quarter of an hour, then rinse the face with lukewarm water, and with regular use of this mask, dark spots will disappear completely from the skin.
