  • Five hundred grams of chopped dates “Ajwa”.
  • A teaspoon of cinnamon.

How to prepare

Dough preparation:

  • Put the sesame, flour and cake aroma together in the bowl of the electric mixer, put the paddle attachment and turn on for a few seconds on a quiet speed until the ingredients are mixed.
  • Add the hot ghee and restart the mixer on a slow speed for four to five minutes, rub the flour with the ghee, then leave the mixture in the mixing bowl until it cools.
  • Put the yeast, sugar and water in a small cup, cover the cup and leave it until the yeast evaporates.
  • Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture, add the milk and run the mixer for two to three minutes on a slow speed until the dough is formed, then cover it and leave it for an hour until it rests.

Prepare the filling:

  • Add the cinnamon to the dates, and knead well with the tips of the fingers until the dough is soft.
  • Prepare short edge trays and cut the dough into small balls, then put an appropriate amount of dates inside each dough ball, re-ball it and decorate it with a cake chisel.
  • Put the pieces in the prepared trays so that the pieces are spaced from each other, and leave them for an hour to rest.
  • Put the oven at a temperature of 190 degrees Celsius, and bake the cakes for a period ranging from a quarter of an hour to a third of an hour until they turn golden, leave them to cool and then keep them in an airtight container, and sprinkle powdered sugar on them directly before serving.
