Quick access to:

Scripts need a lot of different things and it offers a wide range of features and functions that make it easier for you to use Windows 10, so it is important to learn how to create Scripts, especially as it is very easy and does not need special programs and all you need is Notepad.

Notepad is the official program that Windows uses to edit text and simple text files, and it provides an easy and fast experience to modify text files without any complexity or additional control over the file format in different ways and shapes.

How to make scripts in Notepad:

The trick to using Notepad is to be able to change the format of the text file you will create into a format that Windows can run and execute automatically.

Before deciding the type of syntax you want to use, you must first determine the type of script you want to use, whether it is Batch Script, Powershell Script, VBS, or Autohotkey.

Here are the different file formats for each type of scripts:

  • The Batch Script syntax is .bat
  • PowerShell script is PS1.
  • The format for VBS script is .VBS
  • The Batch Script syntax is .bat
  • The AutoHotKey script syntax is .ahk

Now that we have defined the different formats, open a new Notepad file and then paste the script you wish to use into the new Notepad file that you created.

Save the new file and here you will be asked to enter your script name, now enter the name you want and then change the extension through one of the methods below.

The first way to be able to do this is to choose Save As, and in the list below next to the word Save As Type, choose All Files, and then enter the extension you want next to the name you will choose as it is in the image below.

The second way is to put quotes around the name you want in the form you want to save it in this form automatically as you can see in the picture below:

There is a third method that is more complicated or a little more difficult is to change the file format after saving it in .txt format, but in order to do this you will need to show the file formats through the folder settings so let’s get this method completely.

There are many things that Scripts can be used in, such as shutting down a computer by clicking on Scripts, or running a specific file or command through it, and the options are endless.
