One of the greatest acts of worship with God Almighty is reading His Noble Book, sealing it, contemplating it, and acting upon it, and this worship has great merit and a great place in Islam, and God, Blessed and Exalted be He, has prepared a great reward for the reciter of the Qur’an, and a great reward in this world and the hereafter. a good deed, and a good deed is ten times as much, and God multiplies for whomever He wills; The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of God; He has a good deed, and the good deed is ten like it, I do not say: (Alif) is a letter, but Alif is a letter, and Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter. [صحَّحه الألباني]And in the Qur’an there is a cure for what is in the chests, and a cure for what is in the bodies, and it contains guidance and mercy from the Lord of the worlds. When the Lord of the worlds said: {And We send down from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers, and it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss} [الإسراء: 82].

It is desirable for a Muslim to complete the Qur’an in a week, or in a month, or in forty days, as this is what was mentioned in the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, but some scholars went to the fact that completing the Qur’an in a week is the best, and most desirable, and they infer this by the hadith of Abd Allah bin Amr, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Recite the Qur’an in a month.” I said: “I find strength.” [رواه البخاري].

But the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade reading the Qur’an and concluding it in less than three days. The Messenger of God said: “He who recites the Qur’an in less than three will not understand it.” [صحَّحه الألباني]Reading the Qur’an in less than three days does not make the reader contemplate the Qur’an well and understand what is in it. Therefore, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade it.

Reciting the Qur’an in seven days is the best reading, and there are many ways that can be followed to complete the Qur’an in a week, but the best way, and the first to follow is the way of the Companions, and the righteous predecessors, may God be pleased with them. A week, and that they used to divide the Qur’an into seven parties, and recite one party every day, until they complete it on the seventh day. , eleven, thirteen, and the Mufassal Party.

On the first day, the Companions would recite Surat Al-Fatihah, and the three Surahs that followed, namely: Al-Baqarah, Al Imran, and Al-Nisa’. Surah Q, and continues until the end of the Qur’an.

The way the Companions sealed the Qur’an in a week is illustrated by the following:

  2. The second day: From Surat Al-Ma’idah to the end of Surat Al-Tawbah.

  6. Sixth day: From Surat Al-Saffat to the end of Surat Al-Hujurat.
  7. The seventh day: From Surat Q to the end of Surat An-Nas.
