A caesarean section is a major surgery, so it needs rest and the body needs time to recover, as it may need approximately six weeks to fully recover, and in this period it is recommended to lie down most of the time, even if the circumstance does not allow a short period of rest is beneficial. In this case, a relative or friend can also be asked for help in helping with household chores or caring for the newborn.[1]

Reducing hemorrhoids and constipation

After the birth of their children, mothers suffer from hemorrhoids and constipation, and to relieve the pain associated with hemorrhoids, it is recommended that the mother bathe using warm water or put compresses of cold water. Healthy food

The mother must take care of the pattern and quality of her food, as the mother’s foods must include the following:[3]

  • Fruits: The mother is advised to eat all kinds of fruits and gather their forms, including fresh, frozen, dried, canned, cut, mashed, and whole.
  • Grains and legumes: These can be obtained from cooked foods that consist of rice, corn, barley, oats, or cereals including whole wheat, oatmeal and brown rice.
  • Vegetables: The mother is advised to eat all kinds of vegetables and collect the items, including leafy vegetables, starchy vegetables, and vegetables of various colors, red and orange.
  • Dairy: It is recommended that the mother eat all milk products, focusing on fat-free or low-fat ones, in addition to eating those that contain a large amount of calcium.
